After School Programs > Slowfire
Slowfire Afterschool @ Beye offers daily art enrichment for grades K-5
Students in our afterschool programs and classes are provided an environment of creative exploration. We expose them to multiple mediums such as Ceramics, Painting & Drawing, Printmaking, Sculpting and more. Our team of artist instructors provide fun, age appropriate projects, but also take the lead from their students, and incorporate their interests along the way. Students are provided a snack break, as well as wiggle break (outdoor play or indoor dance party), and free choice time which allows them to play individually or together with Legos, games or fidgets. We are an electronic-free space, only using technology to assist in art lessons, or to provide music.
What makes us different?
1. Slowfire considers the need of the whole child. While offering quality art education is an important part of our curriculum, we also recognize the need for movement, play and social emotional growth.
2. Slowfire strives to create small learning groups, perfect for students who need one on one attention. We keep our student:teacher ratio low, to allow our students and teachers to work together one on one throughout the class.
3. Slowfire teachers are educated artists in their own right, and bring their knowledge and expertise into the classroom.
4. Slowfire supports all learners, and fosters a welcoming environment.
